Blogs of Thanksgiving: Day 3

Today, on my way to and from work, my ipod played songs about grace, what an awesome reminder of how grateful I am for grace. Grace is defined as unmerited favor. Sometimes we confuse grace with the forgiveness of sins, but it goes much further than that. Grace not only means that our sins our forgiven, but to those that accept God's grace, they are adopted into his family. Not only are our sins forgiven, but he blesses us with His love. This does not mean that life will be peachy, nor does it mean that we won't ever fall under the temptation of sin again, but it does mean that win we do, we are covered. I know that I need grace each new day, because let's face it, I'm far from perfect and I am so grateful that no matter how far I fall, God's grace is there to catch me. And not only am I grateful for the grace that God bestows on me, but I am also grateful for the grace those in my life give me too when I fall short of their expectations. From family to friends to professors, to co-workers, I have been blessed by people who are continually gracious with  me, something I unfortunately take for granted from time to time, but nevertheless, I am very grateful. May I never tire of showing my gratitude for the grace given to me freely.

Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)

Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below
Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine
You are forever mine
